Projects of the Winter Universiade-2019 in Krasnoyarsk

Traditionally the World of Siberia Festival is held in Shushenskoye in the summer once a year. But in 2019, for the first time the International Festival of World Music and Crafts "World of Siberia" was held in Krasnoyarsk in the spring and twice a year!

The festival became a special project of the Cultural Program of the 29^th Winter Universiade-2019 and took place in the International Exhibition and Business Center "Siberia" in Krasnoyarsk from March 3 to March 5.

Krasnoyarsk residents, festival fans and Universiade participants plunged into the atmosphere of the largest festival of folk culture in Russia without leaving Krasnoyarsk. More than 20 thousand people visited the festival "World of Siberia. Winter Edition".

The festival venues worked almost non-stop from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. for three days.

All traditional interactive venues, such as the "Town of Craftsmen", "Food Court", "Ritual Meadow", "Wood Plane Museum", "Yenisei Siberia" and Main stage were integrated into the indoor space of the International Exhibition Business Center.

During the festival days, its visitors participated in arts and crafts masterclasses, learned basics of original traditional techniques, tasted Siberian cuisine and bought exclusive hand-made souvenirs and useful handiworks.

At the "Ritual Meadow" the visitors indulged in the original culture of Siberian peoples, looked into homes of nomadic peoples and learned about their national songs and crafts, which are passed on from generation to generation.

Every evening at the Main stage four diverse concerts were given by internationally acclaimed world music bands of Neuromonakh Feofan, Morgane Ji, Sergey Starostin, Albina Degtyareva, and LaFrae Sci, bands Huun-Huur-Tu, Theodor Bastard, Authentic Light Orchestra Yakruna, TRAD. ATTACK! and others.
