Opening of the Krasnoyarsk Airport

On December 26 2017, the new Krasnoyarsk Airport was opened and became a symbol of "the gates to the Yenisei Siberia". The conception of the Yenisei Siberia was used as a basis of the terminal building's interior design.

One thousand people had a chance to be the first visitors of the new airport, and experience exhibitions of photographs and paintings by Siberian artists including Vasily Surikov and to participate in the opening ceremony.

The ceremony opened with a choreographed flashmob of 100 participants! Artists of the Yenisei Siberia, the Krasnoyarsk region, the Republic of Khakassia and the Republic of Tuva, performed on the main airport stage.

The ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk region, the Heads of the republics of Khakassia and Tuva, which highlighted an importance of the renewed airport for the entire region.

Now the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Airport has a status of the biggest Russian airport beyond Ural with its identity – the area of 58,000 sqm, thoughtful and unique design, and easy navigation.
